Principal's Message
Dear parents and friends,
Welcome back to the 2022 school year. It has been an unusual start once again, however, we are getting pretty good at being flexible and resilient. I trust that you have had a refreshing break over the summer and that you are ready for another year of opportunities and learning. Once we welcomed the students back on campus for Week 3, there was a buzz of excitement, big smiles and a few nerves. Schools are not quite the same without students present.
For many, returning to school is a time for new beginnings, though for most it’s a return to the familiar and the excitement about learning new things and catching up with friends. As well as welcoming over 100 new students at the start of the year, we also welcomed several new staff members. Please join me in making them all feel welcome to our Peace community.
Last week our School Leaders were inducted and I am looking forward to seeing them grow in their roles throughout this year. The Gold Dingoes captain and vice-captain in the Primary school have already had an opportunity to hone their public speaking skills as they lead assemblies for Term 1. Delivering these via Zoom has added another dimension and additional learning opportunities.
In Secondary school, the new Vertical House structure provides the leaders with a fantastic opportunity to be part of something new, to make their mark on what they want Peace to look like moving forward. I look forward to seeing how this evolves over the year.
I wish you all every blessing for 2022 and look forward to seeing you at some of the activities and events that will take place throughout this year.
