As a part of our strategic priorities for 2025, we are looking forward to re-engaging our parent community into the life of the college through a range of initiatives designed to inform, connect and empower families.
We have been blessed at the start of this year to have a number of touchstone connections between parents and staff. Our Welcome Parent Evening, Parent Information Evening, and Parent Teacher Interviews have been amazing opportunities to build positive relationships between home and school.
The Resilience Project
We are delighted to be working once again with The Resilience Project. TRP is committed to teaching positive mental health strategies to protect mental health and build young people’s
capacity to deal with adversity. Students will engage in weekly lessons to understand and strengthen their practice of Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness, and Emotional Literacy.
You can visit The Resilience Project's Parent & Carer Hub website and learn more about the evidence-based strategies of the program, what your child will be learning, and activities that you can practice at home.
Home Group Mentors are a student’s first port of call each day. As such, they are also your child’s first advocates at school. I invite you to contact your child’s Home Group Mentor and make yourself known to them at College events.
The recent Parent Information Evenings provided a time to meet the Home Group Mentors and Head of Year. Thank you to those families who attended. I hope you enjoyed learning about 2025.
Student Voice and Leadership
This year, we aim to empower our student leaders and enhance opportunities for student expression by having teachers serve as “guides on the side.”
We strive to keep you informed through open, efficient communication. The Peace Lutheran College School App, Facebook and Instagram pages are regularly updated with news, events and important notices.
